yea, my second Phd first was in Marine Biology, this second in Psychology will be over in a year, again thanks for your input, appreciate it. Best of luck with your studies Jim.

Yeah sure you are, lol. A what the bleep experiment for your Ph.D?? Do you actually expect me to believe that. I'll be starting my Ph.D Next year (huh and I'm only 23...)in high energy physics, so I know a little about how REAL experiments are done. You know and I know you're not getting your PhD. You're just mad cause I busted you on being 34 and coming on youtube to make fun of ppl (agian, poorly).

Jim, I was conducting a what the bleep experiment for my PHD. Thanks for playing along, you will be in the 12 - 24 year old bracket. The twelve year old from Mensa actually handled the ridicule much better. We can't all be geniuses, you prove that, hands down. Thanks again for the input sir.

oh another zinger...you must be a comedian, I mean there's no way you couln't be and come up with these original, witty and just down right funny insults. Wait...you're 34 years old and coming on youtube to make fun of people (poorly...very poorly) that are miles away? This guy's living the dream! You're the man cool guy!

POSTER UPDATE Now Jim is a dime-store hooker through the power of positive thought. He understand QM & it's influence on his rectal cavity.

Yah there seems to be an obsessive movement to validate mysticism with science. This display of rhetorical blabbering was particularly shameful.

I'm not a Theist, I'm not an Atheist, I'm not an Agnostic, I'm finally free. Is this quote a different Reality or a different Certainty?

You should go to university though, for physics or whatever. You sound like you'd be good at it, since all you really need is a love of the subject. That way you can do your own research on the subject and not have to rely solely on others. You can pick through what's be said and hypothesized and come to your own conclusions. Not that having a degree is the only way to that but it definitely helps, as well as to your credibility. Good luck to you too.

Well I'm glad you have a good interest in it. I think it should be philosophical, bc that's what it is, it has deep roots in metaphysics and some existentialism, which is really cool and interesting. Don't forget that philosophy was the early science, so perhaps one day we'll solve the mystery of the conciousness, bc it interests me too.

Thank you for the kind reply. Its not just this movie, but hundreds of books and movies on everything from ancient stories and texts, to astronomy, physics, neuro-science and so forth... al in al, the philosophical approach would probably serve me a bit better. Good luck pal! Sincerely Christopher.

You know we might affect things more then classical science states, but I think making wrong assumptions about established science as your launch pad to investigate this is the wrong way of doing it. I believe a more philosophical approach should be used and then perhaps once we know more about our universe, through UFT, M-Theory, LQG, or whatever comes about, should we start making scientific progress.

The ones that I did look up were all from the movie. I think this movie has a wonderful idea, positive thinking, that works philosophically and I agree with, bc negative thinking never helps. The problem I have is when it tries to pass it off as scientific, that it is a truth and not simply an idea, that it holds ALL your answers to ALL your problems. I'm glad it helped and you're not a moron, I apologize, you just seem enchanted by this movie (don't worry, I was too until I studied more QM)
By: mrjcbar. on 19 Aug 08, 21:22:51
FYI: The list I sent earlier was not only from the movie, you havent even taken the time to look them up. We live in an infinite universe, don´t you think we affect things a little more than the classical science states? Lets leave it at that. I might be a moron (as you said) but Im not giving up the beliefs that changed my life and gave me the power to live my dream. Not for you or anyone. Nice having this discussion doh, gave me a chance to brush of my english. Take care m8!

The best way to sum up this movie is Richard Feynmans quote "If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics" Feynman would be rolling in his grave now at the thought of how these new age people are taking a beautiful and established theory, QM, and using it as propaganda for their BS.
By: Jim1905. on 19 Aug 08, 21:06:17
Seriously, the list goes on about scientist regarding this movie as a complete waste of time. I've read so many negative things about this movie from respected scientists, on top of what I've heard from my colleuges and professors, that I can hardly believe some people out there believe this stuff.

I agree that mr emoto should have shown al of his results regarding the water ex. but he is not one of my sources. Keep digging, maybe you´ll find something;)

(cont)...Apparently quantum physics can also be exploited to bring about world peace through meditation. Having spent the last fifteen years making documentaries and writing about science, I care hugely about the accurate and honest portrayal of science."

Dr Simon Singh, Science Author, Journalist and Broadcaster, said: "It is the third highest grossing documentary ever and it claims to be about quantum physics, but in fact it makes gross distortions that would make any self-respecting scientist squirm. For example, the film states that experiments imply that labelling a bottle of water with words like 'love' or 'hate' can change its molecular structure. Indeed, the film suggests that quantum physics can explain why this is the case...

Dr. Shui Yin Lo, Dr. Bruce Lipton Ph. d, Greg Braden, Dr. Wayne Dyer Ph.d, Max Planck, William Tiller, Ph.D., Amit Goswami, Ph.D., John Hagelin, Ph.D., Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D. You sent a link to the science skeptics site and al they found was sources like wikipedia?? Amazone?? IMDB?? Come on... this is poor stuff mate. At least I got some highly ranked names to back up my beliefs! You just making things up now, lol!
By: Jim1905. on 19 Aug 08, 21:00:25
Raj Persaud, Gresham Professor for Public Understanding of Pyschiatry and Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital, said: "I thought that the film made a lot of statements about QM, but also on neurobiology, the brain and the mind. Most of these statements are gross distortions of recent scientific findings. For example, there was a claim that the latest brain scanning research suggests the brain could not distinguish between reality, memory or imagination and this is simply not true.
By: Jim1905. on 19 Aug 08, 20:54:22
You will also note that "the filmmakers are involved with The Ramtha School of Enlightment. Ramtha is a 35,000-year-old warrior spirit from the lost continent of Atlantis and one of the Ascended Masters channeled by JZ Knight, who appears in the film" Hardly any scientific credibility there

Yes but most of them argued that they were misrepresented in the film. David Albert who appears in the film stated they selectively edited his interview to make it seem as he endorsed the films thesis. He says he is "profoundly unsympathetic to attempts at linking quantum mechanics with consciousness." 50 year old documents? You seriously have no idea what you're talking about. This movies idea of QM is an old one that has been discounted.
