Add a sliced chili pepper into the pan for some heat if you want, along with some snow peas and/or bean sprouts tossed about the salad for a bit of Thai flair.

Try making a solid ball by making two bowls then putting water in the middle, letting them freeze one nigh. The next day connect them and throw some snow in the middle. Tell your kids to carry it for you to the driveway and put it on one of those pedestals. Next you can carve it into what ever you want... maybe a football helmet for gameday.

You could also put flower petals and pretty leaves in the water or food coloring and then it freezes with the petals inside, making it even more beautiful.
We make ice bowls for our dogs and put all kinds of fruit in it to freeze, and they just love licking the ice bowls.
