Yes, something's different. Her voice is raw, natural, or whatever you'd like to call it. while in the studio version they used filters on the tracks and a delay was added to her voice (like if she was singing from inside an empty box). But this live version impressed me more, cause there aren't many women that can do their throats change octaves that quickly. That is not an easy piece to sing. And i'm guessing it'll better over the years when her voice lowers a bit.

i did also, until i saw in one of her cds my wife has that she's the only vocalist. i read somewhere that she may have up to 60-80 vocal tracks of her singing in one song - VERY time consuming! it gives her music that signature sound, but the downside is that it keeps her from touring - you cant recreate that sound live.

You're right about the layering. Enya also has recorded her own voice in different ooooh's and aaaah's, that she has in her synth instrument library in order to make that trademark "Enya choir" sound. But still, I didn't hear anything wrong with this live performance. Unless this was playback. Doesn't really matter though. She is still behind the music she indeed creates. That makes her a great artist.

While holding out the last note the position of his mouth in relation to the microphone and projection comes to a point where it appears to be the same as the previous line yet his level never increases. Have a look as to why the Stray cats came to the UK, they and many others claim their was no audience for rockabilly from the youth of the states. To have a thriving scene you need an established club scene which the states did not have. The EU however never forgot Rockabilly, and has been part of our music scene since the 50's.
