Well, wasn't it unprofessional to write such a God awful script, and then hand it to one of the greatest dramatic forces of the 20th century, at his lowest moment? The man went from Citizen Kane to whoring himself for stupid pea commercials because of a string incredibly bad luck, and a system too ignorant to realize his enormous talent. It's fucking tragic, and I think him being unprofessional in the studio for some moronic ad is pretty damn forgivable, professionally and personally.

He set the bar against which much is still measured, and to call him unprofessional, despite his behavior, is almost self-contradictory. A few other things- 1. One of the people he's arguing with is not the director, but a PA. 2. No one ever schooled Welles, I suspect Don LaFontaine, like anyone else who knows what's what, would have been proud to work with him under any circumstances.
