We made a radiator out of grass and piped icing, then we made the radiator pick up the vibrations of passing trains, we then took a wheel barrow full of lime flavouring and poured it over a tanning bed which we lined with felt, we linked this to a solar powered robotic vacuum cleaner and coated the entire system in marzipan ready for decorating. The end result is a great phone operating system that is expandable and future proof. This is roughly what i got from this video. :)

Well, if you run a 32-bit application on top of a 64-bit processor you can't utilise all the added registers included in x86-64 instruction set, so you're theoretically right but practically slightly wrong. (In fact a 64-bit application can be even slower of a 32-bit one if they make massive use of pointers, because they allocate more RAM and so they provoke more cache and memory faults.)

Eh, no dude. It's not 'only 10 percent faster'... see, 64 bit means that integers are 64 bits long rather than 32... It has exactly nothing to do with 'speed' of any sort. There is no 'emulation' going on, either. I'm not going to continue this discussion, however, since what you need is not a thorough owning from me but instead a trip to wikipedia.

Fuck you, if everything was 64 bit it would be faster. I have used 64 bit firefox and it blows 32 bit out of the water. Don't bring the bullshit argument that 64 bit only allows more RAM and in reality is it only like 10 percent faster. Running 32 bit apps on a 64 bit version of windows is slow because the emulation is slow. If I had a 32 bit OS on the same computer yeah it wouldn't make much difference, but guess what I don't.

Basically, they made V8 really fast, but TraceMonkey has been in development for like 2 months now and it's almost as fast. I'm sure that Firefox programmers are going to look at V8 and see what can be done to make TraceMonkey even better. If google wants to work on a browser I don't know why that made there own rather than contribute to Firefox. Chrome still has many problems with rendering and stuff. Plus, Firefox has such a large plugin base.

Yes but still in wikipedia the really good articles still came from a specific person who had deep knowledge of the subject. I think the real gains here come from the freedom that comes from the destruction of beaureaucracy. It's not magic and it's dangerous to make the assumption that consensus is truth since in certain cases (scientific) one piece of hard evidence is worth more than any number of uninformed opinions about a topic.

UUs stand for a lot of things, they just don't have a religious creed, orthodoxy nor dogma. This is not to suggest that you do in contrast, but to point out the interfaith and religious sympathy goals of UUism and UUs in particular. I really appreciate what is done at this church. It defines my beliefs and I didnt even know it. I call myself a spiritualist; however, in a sense, we are very much the same thing. I customize my own belief system because i feel differently than those around me. I have PhotoShop (PS), I'm a student so you get a discount of around over a 1/3 of the original price. Getting it for free is illegal, however it is worth the cost if you think how much work has been put into it lol. Gimp is pretty similar to PS, some people alter the menus and commands to be on close par of PS so that they can follow the Tuts. I'm trying to get CS3 (latest version for PS). Gimp crashes a lot though with some cases, so be careful to save your work.

Yeah, it's good info, I suppose.. for newbies. CNet is not really on the cutting edge of GPL software, and their selections show it. But anything we can do to get people started along the GPL path is a good path. So for that, I say Kudos, poster!

Bravo Chris!!! With the Vista on my new laptop, I bit the bullet and install Ubuntu. While running a PC, I have never had a better computing experience. Apple is another story (much better than Linux even). But I do not pay for any software I use and I run a small web design/computer services business and Open Source apps do everything I need to do.

i have a pc thats WAY more powerful than the ps3, and its MUCH better to get a pc than a console. plus the ps3 isnt as good as the 360 except in the processing area. in graphics, the 360 wins. For the best experience? I'm sure that's a relative ascertion. The only downside i see to the PS3 is the game base at the moment, should be awesome next year though. I own both, i play the PS3 more just because it's more convinient than having to pay for xbox live, and Unreal owns.
