Given that the Olympic ceremonies are already becoming one big American pop/rock concert no matter where they're hosted, making John Willams or any other composer the official Olympic composer would end up ruining the ceremonies altogether, as the cultural significance of the ceremonies would be lost. The music for the ceremonies should reflect the culture of the host city. If a composer from the host city cannot be found, then a composer from elsewhere in the host nation should be chosen.

Yeah I agree, but I wouldn't say that the likes of Cassius and Balloons are the best on the album. I was disapointed that Hummer wasn't on the album though tbh it's mint. My favourites are this, The French Open and Two Steps Twice. It pisses me off though the way people moan about album coz they expected all the songs to be like Cassius and Balloons, Foals are DIVERSE ffs, the majority of these people can't appreciate rare music. I do love Foals though lol :P

It was lucky yes, but it takes luck to win races, thats just the truth. This is a fantastic performance, one that makes olympics legends. But if you look at the film carefully, you can see three major errors by Arzhanov. The first one is when he suddenly slows his pace(0:52), losing his rythm. The second one is when he fasten his pace in a very sudden way (1:40), wasting a lot of energy. The last one is when he, immediately befor the finish line, almost stops, allowing Wottle to win. This guy ran in a very variable pace, while Wottle was smooth, saving energy.

You sir are an idiot. Sprinters are great athletes no doubt, but weightlifters out power sprinters any day. Just think about it...the weightlifter's sport is to generate maximal power to lift the most weight. Sprinter's have high power outputs to run fast but weightlifting is a 1 ditch effort, all the power they can generate in the shortest amount of time, henceforth, weightlifters are the most powerful for weight.
