haha yeah mineral is very similar to diary by sdre, after that album they changed quite a bit. sdre was STILL amazing, but they had a similar sound to mineral with diary. their later work (especially closer to the rising tide) was completely unparalleled by any other band. completely unique sound. sdre is so damn good! :D

Wow Mineral Ruled. This was always my favorite song of theirs. I drove to Santa Cruz one night to go sit on the beach for the sunrise. I was listening to this album on headphones. One of my favorite memories of my entire life. At total peace. Beautiful view, good tunes. AAAhhhhhh those were the good old days

i think you're right when you compare them to explosions in the sky. honestly, you can listen to nearly any song by mineral and then any song by explosions in the sky, and you can hear a LOT of similarity. it's kind of like explosions in the sky = mineral - vocals, but with more experimentation.

It's just for aesthetics really. Its not a very practical idea for cooling because although the oil will conduct heat away from the components it will just eventually heat the oil. So unless you had a cooling system for the oil itself to be pumped round it's not very usefull. And upgrading or replacing a faulty part would be very messy. Does look good tho, i wonder if you can get a UV reactive mineral oil ?

You're right, pure distilled/deionized water doesn't conduct electricity and it is a much better conductor of heat than oil. The problem is, is that pure water never stays pure and will start to disolve any metal it comes in contact with thereby making it conductive again. So a PC submerged in pure water wouldn't last long before it shorted out. It's the same reason why you'll never see pure water in nature.

Scott McCarver, Mineral guitarist went on to form Pretty the Quick Black Eyes. Mortal Enemy was an early 90s christian thrash band from CO. no, you dont want natural bristles on liquid foundation. And they are so dense it will just absorbe the foundation more between the bristles. I suggest using th 187 it will give you an airbrushed look if you wear liquid foundation.

You can use blotting sheets like purplexfire suggested. If you are looking for a powder anyway - MAC Blot Powder should be ok. Invisible if you have access to Pro products. I use Oil Absorbing Sheets. You can get some from wallgreens. They're great! They don't disturbe your makeup whatsoever. I have really oily skin but after a while of using them my skin is clearer and healthier. Adding more powder on top of oily skin makes it caky and a lot worse for your skin.

very good question! these days everyone refers to most buffer brushes as kabukis. But for the most part, a Kabuki brush does not have ferules (metal part). Its mainly constructed with just the handle, and bristles.

Bare Minerals kinda sucks. There's this make-up called Joppa Minerals, and it's amazing. I think everyone here should try the samples--they're like three bucks, and they last like at least a month. i really cannot get the hang of mineral makeups, they make me look powerdery and i don't like that look. that rimmel 16hr foundation absolutely does work! i used to use it, their mousse 16hr foundation works amazingly, too!

emily you probably know this but you can return used makeup. many stores get a credit back from the manufacturer. i've done this at Target and Rite Aid and I hear Walgreens has the same policy.

Thanks for the review. I wanted to tra a revlon founation too, but I couldn't stand the smell... Just one correction: Every mineral makeup does have SPF, as long as there is Titanium Dioxide in it. Which is one of the main incredients in MMU. They just are not allowed to write it on their products as long as the haven't done a very costy "official" test.

I have to comment here! I use colorstay foundation usually as well and bought this and felt disapointed! I am actually using it as a loose powder over my liquid colorstay and it is GREAT, it keeps me matte all day! I have to use it up somehow, lol! But people, if you have oily skin type, it's great as a powder to set your liquid, I use a big brush and tap some in a dish. :) Otherwise, yes, bad product if used as foundation!

i liked this powder at first, but then after having to daily put it into separate cap and applying with pink kabuki brush from coastel scents the process got really annoying and time consuming.. i didn't bother to even try applying it with the given brush, that brush is useless, revlon could of saved some money on material if they didn't attach this brush that nobody is going to use. i was really excited when I first saw it because i love ColorStay products but this i won't be repurchasing :/

Revlon isn't cheap in Australia, you pay quite a bit of money for it, so I'm very disappointed when their products let me down. Thanks for the review, I'll avoid it.

I love that site. The rainbow collection is really pigmented. Honestly, the stuff is dirt cheap but some site overprice it just to make a bigger profit. But try to stay away from the nano stuff - I read somewhere that it's pore clogging and bad for the skin.
