Donna Summer - MacArthur Park Suite - PART 1 (1978)

This was a real labour of love and took me forever, so I hope it's worth it! :-))
Obviously the full Macarthur Park Suite, at nearly 18 minutes, is far too long to post in its entirety, so instead I'm posting it in two parts. Part 2 (One Of A Kind/Heaven Knows/Macarthur Park Reprise) should follow soon, as long as I can work out how to do it!

What do you mean? Do you even know what the metaphors are?
By: Twili6. on 01 Dec 08, 02:27:33
Sounds good but the metaphors are agreeably stupid.

This definitely reminds me of the Burt Bacharach era.. Good classic 60's song Thanks for posting :)

Amazing that Richard Harris's limited vocal ability compliment this song perfectly. It sounds almost like a story being told not a song being sung. Absoloute classic. Gives me tingles eveytime I hear it.

The music, err the garbage of today could never compare to the classics such as the Webb hits of the 60's.Richard Harris certainly turned this one into a big hit.

It was a great thing for Richard Harris to remake this Jimmy Web song...but I have to say...Richard Harris is the one who made the song great.

Was a senior in high school and this is a real memory maker and was a real make out song, the girls loved it. It was over 7 minutes long and got played on pop stations, a ground breaker of begining of the "concept" songs era during the shift from AM to FM.

Jimmy Webb was a great song writter, and I am happy he made this great song. However, Richard Harris is the one oh made it famous, because he does it better than Jimmy Webb himself!
