Well, I just bought one. If it survives after falling on the floor, it will be enough for me.

Sorry I repair this things and it's a full time job! The question was will the data survive not the laptop. That laptop is fucked but the hdd is fine. Any of you who think they could just pick it up after that and press the on button and it would work are sadly deluded. Unless all the ones I work on are after a more destructive crash like for instance closing the lid onto a pen! Don't believe the hype that laptop is fooooooked.

I think Lenovo has done nothing but great things with their thinkpads since they took over IBM's operations. You would be a fool to not consider them. The Overall construction quality was always a major selling point to me in the IBM days and every lenovo I have serviced has admirably carried on the tradition

Well mergers are always love-hate matters, Lenovo brought things to us so innovative, we never saw on the IBMs, and here we have some metal dots being punched in the keyboards giving us a tiny bit of flex, I know Lenovo is trying to save money in today's economy, but even with that flex, the ThinkPads still have the the world class keyboards

im saying that because i used to be a Thinkpad fan. im so pissed about the takeover.
By: banstaman. on 30 Sep 08, 19:18:29
Even the though it slipped a bit, they seems to built better than any other notebook lineup on the market, I am pretty disappointed at Dell now, they build things cheaply. ThinkPads are tanks!
By: cirenow. on 28 Sep 08, 21:28:17
THINKPAD should've been sold to a Japanese company, so that they could get even better. it was sold to a crappy Chinese company called Lenovo, and the quality actually DECREASED a bit when there should be IMPROVEMENTS over years. Lenovo themselves are depending on Thinkpad technology on their own computers. Enough said.

By: yachilling. on 07 Sep 08, 03:22:00
i have a Lenovo(IBM) thinkpad 60 at work. I have used it for 2 years. It still looks like new. Of course I take very care of it. I have a dell at home. It is a bit cheaper. It works fine. But the build quality of the dell laptop gives you a cheap feeling.

I understand that, but I mean why can't RayneMarina's specifications for a laptop can't be placed in a laptop (albiet not a X300 size) but the specs itself on a standard 15"
