And even tho you killed 2 million or something NVA troops, thats just 2 million AK-47s for them. No actually the main factor for the Soviet victory on the ostfront was the elimination of the german 6th army in Stalingrad. I didnt mean to blame the soldiers. I just meant that the US army didnt manage to do the job they were sent over seas to do. I'm sure the soldiers fought their best. I have heard many people saying that the generals should have had it their way, and if so the USA would have won the war. Personally I havent given that subject any tought, but I guess it sounds realistic. Wars are often lost because the authorities dont listen to the generals.

BS,there were political reasons, the USAF were not allowed to bomb certain areas so that's were the VC/NVN based their critical industries. The US army was fighting with its hands on its back. If they would have let the generals do the war it would have been very different. I know all of that. But no matter how many civillians you killed your soldiers didnt manage to do what they were sent over seas to do. They did not manage to stop the NVA from taking over all of Vietnam. Bodycounts doesent mean anything. Its what you are fighting over and who gets it that decide who wins and who loose. The fact that you killed 15% of the Vietnamese population just made you loose even harder, in my opinion.

actually we were winning in Vietnam, we killed 2 million VC, etc and we only lost like 60 thousand. The only reason we lost is cuz the media reported that we were losing because advocacy reporting was tolerated. For example during the tet offensive we killed 40,000 Vietcong and we lost 2,000 in one night, that night Walter Kronkite reported "i fear the war has been lost" even though it was a major victory.
