Todays metallica ain't soo bad i think people critize metallica now so much more then any other band because of what they did in the past and what metallica had given us, and how they no longer provide that but there is not a band i can think of out there that had not changed thier roots that were legends. Maybe slayer can be the only one. Iron maiden changed but never sold out. Led zeppelin songs by 1978 had begin to change. Pink floyd music went thru a change

honestly i dont enjoy listening to bass too much (fun to play) but when you watch cliff its like he brings a new element to bass guitar - shredding- and he does it so oustandingly well that he blows everyone else out of the water. flea and nikki can kiss my ass this guy rocks.besides cliff stole some of kirks fire so really maybe they woudnt be the metallica we know so well if he hadnt died idk. either way they both rocked. i have to continue my comment on the next one sry its so long..

I clearly understand why Lars Ulrich said that maybe Cliff would not be an ideal bass player for today's Metallica - he was way too good to play in this crappy band that it became after his death. I actually like Trujillo and Newsted as well, but Burton had a completely different approach to the bass. He was amazing and loved by the fans of the good old Metallica. Enough said. Now saying that Nikki Sixx is better than Victor Wooten... Man... Are we talking about playing bass here or what???

How can you compare Cliff to Hendrix?! They are completely different players. Hendrix was a true genius who changed the way people played guitar and created sounds people didn't even know could be made with a guitar. Cliff is just an average bass player that should really of been a guitar player. He wasn't even very creative. Typical that metal fans are impressed by a load of random notes played in quick succession and saturated in distortion.

I feel very lucky that i can appreciate GOOD music from many different styles. For this type of music these two are up with the very best, this was a superb performance, not sure whether thier mike`s were live or not, but who cares, you only have to look at some of thier live performances on here to know they were, and are, both the real deal.
