This is just the Roy Jones highlights of the fight but the people of HBO forgets that Trinidad won the entire first half of the fight clearly. In fact they were making comparisons of the fight been similar to Larry Holmes(as Felix Trinidad) vs. Muhammad Ali(as Roy Jones). Until the knockdown in round 7 the fight was so one sided that Trinidad only loose by four points in two of the scorecards which only reflects the two 10-8 rounds for Roy in which Trinidad was knock down.

I agree, when I saw this fight & Margarito's fight with Cintron I knew that Cotto was a goner. It was a bad idea to put him in the ring with Alfonso "Punching Bag" Gomez before he faced Margarito. Not much of a patteron fan but Iv'e seen both Ali fights and both Liston fights. There were some simlarities with head movement but he wasn't even a power puncher to begin with, in saying that I should complety eliminate an arguement that there similarities would be basis for Tyson vs Ali becuase every punch Tyson throws is harder, even if they exactly alike in every way(which they weren't) you still cant make the comparison, which was the reason I first said anything to begin with.

First of all your harping on the historian thing and your trying the smart and cocky approach and its just not working. Tyson and Frazier had similar size, Tyson 5'11 210 pounds, Frazier 5'11 205 pounds, they both had exellent head movement and ducked punches to launch counter hooks, Frazier's well known for his left hook while Tyson had power in both hands (not that Frazier couldn't hit hard with his right)they both pushed a simlar jab that set up harder punches that followed.

I think alot of people here are selling calzaghe short. He's an unbelievably talented and brilliant fighter. Look how he destroyed punchers like Lacy and Kessler. he didn't commit to much in the Hopkins fight 'cause Hopkins is dirty and Joe didn't wanna get hit with elbows, head or shoulders. I'm also a huge Pavlik fan and he improves dramatically with each outing. I think Pavlik v Calzaghe would be a great fight that would surprise many of you. Also, people get well known by labeling themselves with the style(s) they train in. The term Kung Fu, in Chinese, can refer to any style of martial art. It's just that the rest of the world uses the term to categorize Chinese martial arts. That is why it'd be more accurate to say Chinese Kung Fu.

Considering Oscar won his first title at 130 lbs, and Hopkins was always a middleweight, yeah he had the size and power advantage over Oscar. Pacquaio on the other hand started his career at 106 lbs. He won't have the power to hurt DeLaHoya. Other than a natural middleweight, noboby has been able to really put a hurt on him. Yes he has been dropped, but never badly hurt. Manny is simply too small to cause that kind of damage.

I don't know if any of you have ever boxed, but I have. The first time my coach hit me with a shot like that i went straight down. It hurts. Bad. You can get up after about a minute, but during that minute you are in great pain. De La Hoya fought a good fight, he just got caught with a GREAT body shot.
