This is the 7" version released right before the LP. The LP cut was the "slowed down" version or actually the original. This, like any single, is usually intended for radio &/or club play. Another version with added percussion & a more "disco" feel was released after the LP was released supporting "Nothing." It was called "Strangelove '88."

I like the original version better. Slower, darker and has that more of a meaning to it. Like I want to have mean sex with a girl. I still like this one though, Depeche Mode is the best.

I had some guy that does emo tell me that. Don't get me wrong, he's got a great voice, but the style and subject are orders of magnitude BELOW the quality of the 80s stuff. DM is one very big reason for that.
