I now have both a 900 (Celeron) and 900A (Atom), the 900A has about twice the battery life, more efficient. Slightly better video performance and runs a bit cooler. The 900A is pretty much a 901 in sheeps (900) clothing. And I love that.

This comparison made me pretty much stop believing in any worthy improvements to CPUs. Usually its simply cheaper to make than the old alternative, which is the reason new CPUs are introduced. Even though Intel "Doubled the core", everything lagged far more on the Dual core than on the Celeron. All im saying is its better to wait till the processor has had major improvements over it, at this moment Im goin with the Linux 20GB 900 version, due to bad experiences with Windows

even after seeing that video I will still choose 900 over the 901 for three simple reasons -atom processors are new. And more powerful could mean far more hot than the Celeron -Celeron is an old processor that has been improved a thousand times, and works at its best. Atom has only just seen the light of day, and needs a lot of work before being used in laptops -from personal experience, I have seen and compared the difference between Pentium Dual Core and Celeron. for some reason celeron won

Well, even if OpenGL is bloated as you say, it's not as cumbersome compared to Direct X because that structure has more lines of codes, longer to learn, requires more resources, and takes longer to design games on it, and is not cross-platform compatible. John Carmack (a contributor to OpenGL) has even criticised it for being convoluted, there are like three or four ways of drawing a polygon and other such unnecessary extensions in the name of backwards compatibility. It is bloated, to say its not denotes ignorance. As with most things it takes a strong leadership to cut out the fat, and thats not something that is happening with Open GL. But with Sony, Nintendo and Apple Invested in it that is likely to come.

I think you'll find that OpenGL is bloated and DirectX (10) is a much better concise api. However OpenGL is open source and cross platform and that is where its power lies. In terms of programming and api sets directX is much better (other than the fact that its not open source)... Hopefully Open GL will have these issues addressed in a future release.

Vista Ultimate is half the OS Mac OS X is. If you want to see some true innovative and useful features, tryout a Mac. Never even much knew what OSX had that was so special. I hated vistas stupid search system sooo much. The good old Windows button + F still works wonders. Vistas version just hogged resources and was mighty confusing. Gadgets were ok, but I found out that I can easily live without them. Besides, saves resources.

Wow. I bought this when if first came out way way way back then... and i didnt have a computer good enough to run it. I just found this disc in my old cd pile and installed it! This game was definately amazing for its time... The story is pretty interesting with the background info of the island (ive read the books as well) and I enjoy the plot. I both like and hate the FPS / arm thing... But it sure makes shooting raptors intense with Aiming, lol. A remake of this would be amazing now.

LOVED THIS GAME! i rember playing it as a kid ha the last boss battle with the giant raptor was awesome i died so many times against it and that part when you fight the albertosaurous in that broken down jeep and you use the gun turret so very cool. The abandoned town was deadly too i lured the rex there and had a great laff haha it actually knocked down some buildings :O thats how cool this game is!

the graphics suck on PC, I have 8800gt, q6600, 4gb ram, and it still looks like crap even at 1600X1200, median details. PC version is poorly optimized. I havne't played the Console version, but I dont think it can be as bad as what I am playing right now.

the space provided is enough for the applications its providing really. if you needed more you can always plug in a usb memory stick. when i comes to your home internet it depends on how that is setup, do you know if it's wireless? if it is it would be as easy as he shows. a usb cd drive can be purchased fairly cheaply if needed, altho moost software installed can be downloaded via the internet for this

yeah but thats a laptop..this isnt supposed to rival proper laptops, its like a mini pc, very small, compared to your laptop which is probably 2-3times bigger in size/memory/processor speed etc, so, your laptop isnt all that good, my laptop, which is pretty impressive, takes a couple minutes to boot from turn on, as it runs windows vista :/ so it could depend on what operating system your running n stuff lol. :) wow i type a lot of shit

I can find the hardware I need anywhere, its the software thats hard to find. But not for us mac users. We can use it all. Even Windows only apps with a thing called bootcamp/VMware etc. Can Windows run mac apps? Oh thats right....THEY CANT!!!

I will give Apple points in that regard. Glass and aluminum is better, but to be honest, I usually just recycle the parts inside my PC, and keep the same case. For the boxes I just sort out paper, plastic, etc. But what about all that Styrofoam that apple packs in with the boxes? I realize that you guys need to see little circles with the word "Macbook" on that Styrofoam piece, but would it kill Apple to just take that out?

I can choose any part I want, so I don't have to buy a twenty-seven-hundred dollar computer just to upgrade a graphics card which Apple may not support. When someone installs JUST Windows, they are getting the same Windows that you install with Boot Camp. It's going to be fast unless the computer is just plain old. There's no way a Mac CAN run Windows faster just because Apple does not upgrade their hardware lineup continuously. I bought this computer that had a 8800GT back in early December of 07'. Apple did not include the 8800 series for sometime after that, and even then, the 24" iMac costs WAY too much for that kind of hardware they include

When a user installs ONLY Windows and does not buy a computer with Windows shipped say from Dell, there is no third-party programs. And Macs don't run Windows faster, as Macs are stuck to a hardware limit. You can only have so much processor speed because...Apple limits you. Well considering I don't have a monitor that supports that resolution I'd say I can't do that. But I gurantee you I would get the around the same FPS with 1920x1200 than 1440x900 with 4xAA. Also know that I can do anything I want. Upgrade any part. Motherboard, memory, harddrives, graphics card. Oh, maybe install Linux or Mac OSX or even Windows. I'm not limited. I have choice, not in the monopolistic Apple computers.

I use VMware for windows. But just for office and stuff. The program starts in my mac dock :D And btw, windows xp runs allot better on my mac :D 2g for windows and 2g for mac :D Mac = perfection. I was specifically speaking about the registry that was introduced in Windows 95 and is a freaking nightmare. Windows 95 also started the tradition of Microsoft of removing 'power user' features that they considered unneccesary by their user base like File Manager, Qbasic, deltree, xcopy etc. etc. Get a clue before you open your mouth ;)
