Well put!I have the iphone3g.I have no problems with texting on the keyboard.I find the keyboard nice since if Im not using it, it goes away & it doesnt take up valuable screen space. I use it for business use too & I find it great. I can send and read email just fine. YES it would be great to have some extras like copy & paste & etc BUT it is a software based phone and CAN be updated. Im sure the android is good too. BUT it is an obvious copy of the Iphone. They want some of those sales too.

Interesting views on whats the better mousetrap. Frankly, I wasnt all that motivated with the iPhone when it was first release. However, the advent of the G3 was a quantum leap in functionality made simple, and that is why the iPhone has become so popular (IMHO). Anywho, the Android is conceptually great, while Apple is more conservative, yet very careful to keep things simple. No doubt in my view that Apple will up the ante with something we havent even thought about yet. Regards, ~DD

Iphone wasn't first either. Windows mobile phones were around before the Iphone and PDAs were around before that. Apple just created their own OS using existing elements and put it into their own phone. It is by far the superior phone, but doesn't necessarily have the better os. Android needs to be around longer before anyone can draw any real conclusions.

OK, first of all, how do you know he didn't train it? As someone who tried to get Windows Vista's idiotic speech recognition system to work, training only makes it worse. For me anyhow. Secondly, only several of his problems were due to ignorance. Thirdly, it was humorous because it was hilariously bad at figuring out what he was saying; not because it was quoting him verbatim.

Ok first of all you have to train it to recognize your voice. You cant just plug in a mic and expect it to work. It says so right in the set up. Second he obviously doesn't know what the commands are for half the shit he wants to make it do. Third why is it funny or surprising when the computer types what he says into the mic? Here's a news flash. The computer can't tell you weren't talking to it. Most of his trouble was caused by realizing this simple and basic fact.
