How much programing and or inter-workings (under the hood) knowledge do you need to know just to get a program installed that isn't packaged for your build to run and work? Dell is first major one , not to mention Asus with eee/motherboard, MSI, and HP surely have Linux variants on their machines. However, this has to do more with the software that is displaying the pictures over the OS software but clear examples are obvious with programs like VLC which displays higher quality on OSX than windows for videos. Yes stability issues with windows. I do powerpoint presentations using a windows pc and last week doing a presentation in from of 55 people the system locked up 3 times and i had to restart the whole system because it didnt want to close the program i was using. That doesn't happen on a mac If a program stops responding it doesn't affect anything else on the mac i just have to close the program and relaunch it again not like in windows, where you have to restart your machine.

I use RAW because of the possibilities and by using RAW I can turn the file into almost whatever format I want to, including JPG. Because of the manufacturers not being unanimous about which RAW format to support (fore example, Nikon NEF or Canon CR2), converting your files to the DNG format for storage is probably good as that is most likely the future format. I will shoot JPG if the images are non-important i.e. NOT stock/gallery or for an assignment.

Great video. I dig your videos, very informative. I shoot in RAW 99% of the time. Most professional photographers do also. Have you ever overexposed a picture? nothing you can do with it in JPEG. RAW you can adjust the exposure afterwards just like you would on your camera before the shot or many other adjustments. Much more control of how well your pictures look in RAW. The average person should probably just use JPEG to save space. But you could always convert a RAW to JPEG

I use JPEG, only because my camera doesn't do RAW files - it does TIFF for lossless, and it is painfully slow to save them. If my camera had RAW and did a good job with it, I'd probably use it. Also, some cameras will save RAW files that contain a larger color gamut than what a JPEG can store, so that's another potential advantage. On the audio side, I think WAV is as ubiquitous as MP3, and I would never archive any irreplaceable audio as MP3 only (far too lossy).

whats so wrong about the fonts for safari. everything about Safari Works for me. ? Its awsome. Probably the best & fastests Web Browser so far. I've tryed Firefox. Which is Ok until i happned to come across Safari so i thought i'd download it & it works fine although i had some Issues in using Hotmail. It didnt Work so i had to download Firefox 3 to use it for email and such. But i would strongly agree in using it as your Default Browser. But if anyone has any other sugestions thn msg me.

I would use Safari on Windows IF: it used cleartype font rendering blended with the OS better (looks more like Firefox) used the OS theme just works better with the OS! Safari sticks out like a soar thumb, in a bad way, if it supported add-ons like firefox but on Mac OS X I'm forced to use Safari or Firefox... Firefox is ugly on Mac OS X but Safari looks great.
