Thanks for that 8 reasons thing enddogmanow! Here's a little quote to serve as a slight antidote to the mindless spouting of scripture that many of the hopelessly indoctrinated seem to want to poison free thinkers with. The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference Charles Darwin.

By far one the most eloquent of the 4 horsemen, Christopher Hitchens can be rather off-putting in his smugness, yet can you blame him for being that way? Far too long have atheists stayed silent out of reasonableness. Superior understanding, even wisdom, has always seemed to dictate silence in the face of rabid fundamentalism. So it is about time that someone stood up and faced down these morons with daddy issues and imaginary friends in the sky. NOT Freedom of religion, FREEDOM FROM RELIGION
By: farliecharlie. on 11 Nov 08, 12:49:27
Christopher is of course right, what I have thought for years put into eloquent words. The belief in god ia an extordinary suspension of anything that approaches intelligence. To the religious, dont surrender your common sense to toxic lies it is a feat of indoctrination and your gullibility. Please, grow up, drop your comfort blanket and open your stupid eyes!
By: enddogmanow. on 09 Nov 08, 02:04:14
As Ernestine Rose so rightly stated, "It is an interesting and demonstrable fact, that all children are atheists and were religion not inculcated into their minds, they would remain so." That children are indoctrinated into archaic and sick bronze-age dogma is child abuse, ignorant and responsible for the vast majority of conflict in the world today - it is an abomination that will see us endure more generations of hate and pointless wars unless we mature past this absurd and childish legacy.

8 Reasons Why God Never Received Tenure at University: 1. He had only one major publication 2. And it was in Hebrew 3. And it had no references 4. And some even doubted that He wrote it Himself. 5. When one experiment went awry, He tried to cover it up by drowning the subjects. 6. He rarely came to class: He just told students to read the book. 7. He had his son teach the class. 8. He expelled His first two students for learning too much.

Christopher is indeed a very intelligent man, however IQ is not the same as wisdom. While he gives religion the treatment it deserves (it is patently absurd bronze-age dogma), particularly in "God is not great", he has not a jot of spiritual awareness. I support his quest to expose religion as the insane tripe it is, and encourage others to seek a connection to source through presence and stillness.

Neucleus: WTF are you talking about? Now your comments are now beyond idiotic, they are incomprehensible. Come back to reality.
By: Timjina. on 06 Nov 08, 09:29:16
Great speech.
By: ianclivewright. on 05 Nov 08, 10:30:48
You are denying the reality which is self evident all around you. I don't have to carry out experiments because other people already have many times. Wouldn't it be tedious if when I needed electricity I had to do all the pure research into the physics of building materials, metals, and electricity, and then build myself a power station. Your views come across as rather silly and juvenile, I'm thinking you are probably young, about 14 say? This is bolstered by your emotional incontinence.
By: ianclivewright. on 05 Nov 08, 10:27:08
People aren't seeing what's on the surface, they're seeing a scientifically replicated reality, which is predictive. There car starts every morning They fly in planes They turn on the light, it gets light They have an infection, take antibiotics, it clears up Bridges remain upright and are designed beforehand Food is cheap because agriculture supplies it on a vast scale Space vehicles work and keep on working Ships float around the ocean All established by scientific method Odd isn't it?
By: Neucleus. on 05 Nov 08, 04:10:22
"Calling names", what are you a baby? I'm just pissed off at people only seeing what's on the surface. Before you reply again no, I don't believe in any god. I'm tired of atheist thinking they are so intelligent. Oh yeah, this is the stupidest comment ever, not a racist or sexist one but this, you're a fool.
By: wauzers. on 05 Nov 08, 04:03:41
Neucleus: Facts suck in your life dont they. I guess you can do no better than name calling, insults, and posting some of the stupidist comments here on Youtube, for the world to see.
By: Neucleus. on 05 Nov 08, 03:50:57
You're a waste of my time, naive piece of shit.
By: wauzers. on 05 Nov 08, 03:07:42
Neucleus: Facts are used to create theories fool! Heres the definition idiot. theory (th?'?-r?, thîr'?) A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena. Most theories that are accepted by scientists have been repeatedly tested by experiments and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena. - The American Heritage Science Dictionary
By: Neucleus. on 05 Nov 08, 02:25:24
You're so damn blind. You obviously can't tell the difference between a "fact" and a theory fool. All scientific "facts" are ONLY theories, there's not one 100% proof.
By: Neucleus. on 05 Nov 08, 02:21:53
"You're God", I hope you're not implying that to me. If you are you're incredibly dumb, because nowhere have I stated that I believe in God. Does your dumbass actually think that having a degree makes you "intelligent? You're so easily offended, that you're probably the "queer". Way to go offending all homosexual people, when it was me who "offended" you not them. You're the stupid childish queer, with a made up degree.
By: Neucleus. on 05 Nov 08, 02:16:46
You are too dumb might I add. You probably don't do any scientific research for yourself, do you? Yet you believe what others tell you, you are faith based fool. You're probably too ignorant to know that a "fact" is only a theory, and is not "proven".
By: ianclivewright. on 04 Nov 08, 21:57:24
I was going to say all that to the witless clone, but you beat me to it. Neucleus obviously believes that before antibiotics were invented people died of infections just to be spiteful. He uses a computer but doesn't think any science was involved in creating it, it works because God made it. He doesn't understand the basics of scientific method, and then mistakes his ignorance of basic science for wisdom. You comment is spot on, just what I would have said. But I think moron is being generous
