It's great to see parents being accepting of GID, but I don't quite understand why they have to call it a 'disorder', it seems a little poorly-worded.

That is something i know to be true. Just from my own experience. I felt female from an early age. But was brought up as, and only ever treated as male. I didn't even know there were other people who felt the same way i did till around 17 yrs old. So there is no way i was "influenced" to feel female. It was something i naturally felt from a young age. The only logical explanation, is that i was born like that. Gender is programmed into your brain in utero, and cannot be influenced or changed.

You want to think the kids are being put up to it, because you don't want to believe that these kids really know their gender conflict with their genitals. But i think you'll find anyone who genuinely has this condition says they knew from an early age something was wrong. Just as i did. And again, my parents knew nothing of my inner torment, so they cant be "blamed" in any way for me feeling the way i do. I firmly believe i have a female brain construct, and perhaps female genes too.

A baby at the age of 1? A baby of that age cant even speak properly, so i dont know how they could say that. For me, i knew from around the age of 4/5 that i was female, not male. You mention being a tomboy, that's exactly how i felt growing up! I mean, i liked girly things, and role playing as a girl. But i also enjoyed playing with my cars and stuff. Though i hated having short hair. Culturally invented gender stereotypes have nothing to do with what gender you identify as though.

Very brave and amazing kid and parents.

No. Being transgender is something that's...imprinted into your brain from birth. I don't believe it's something that can be influenced.

So...let me get this straight. Nail polish and makeup magically transform males into homosexuals? Is there some sort of ingredient in them that causes males to suddenly become aroused by the thought of a penis instead of a vagina? Someone needs to notify Revlon about this ASAP!!!

Demonic? The devil made Jazz want to wear a dress? LOL oooooookie dokie then!
By: secretblueangel. on 25 Nov 08, 20:48:31
Interesting...I really believe this now. How else would such young children feel like this, it cant be a choice, its how they're born.

The big problem there is, most of the effects of puberty cannot be reversed once you've gone through it. Your voice breaking and the effect on skeletal growth are impossible to reverse once puberty is complete. More prominent Adam's Apple, facial hair and excessive body hair can all be helped or reveresed, but these procedures are all very painful, and expensive too. And its not about "becoming" the other sex. Its about belonging to the other sex, and trying to bring your body in line with that.

i think they are supportive and loving parents to understand and continue to love them no matter what. It's obvious the child knows what he wants.
By: starrrppppp. on 22 Nov 08, 23:59:52
These parents should at least allow their children to go through puberty before they allow them to become the other sex...
By: Cursedsoul30. on 22 Nov 08, 12:37:45
It's not about "wanting" to be anything, its about knowing who you are, and trying to bring your body in line with what that is. Of course, i wish id been born a normal girl, but i dont wish to become female. I already am female. You may not "want" to be a man, but you sure want to look like one, if that is you in those videos. You think just cos you're female, you're exempt from being a "fag"? Well, im sorry, to some people you'd be just as bad as the "fags" you so despise. Wow, just wow...
By: Cursedsoul30. on 22 Nov 08, 12:33:20
Wow, you're a lesbian? That makes your prejudice even more silly. You go on about not wanting any "fags" in your family, when to lots of people, you're just a female equivelant of "fag". And i didnt "insult" you, i said you were ignorant. That's a statement of fact, not an insult. You go on about "I aint want to be no loser of a man, i can do his job better than he can, cos i got a little fagget of a cuz." You sound nuts, im sorry.
By: Cursedsoul30. on 22 Nov 08, 07:05:22
You would have to be insane to choose this life, it's horrible, and i wouldn't wish it on anyone. I still cry to this day, wishing that i'd been born normal, with a physical female body to match what i know i am inside. That is never going to be the case, but it still tortures me everyday. It is impossible for me to identify as male, because my brain just will never accept that. I'd advise you to get your facts right about this condition before trying to preach about it. You know nothing.
By: Cursedsoul30. on 22 Nov 08, 06:57:40
Born physical sex organs, contrary to popular belief, is not the sole thing that classifies someone's gender. Gender is far more dictated to by brain structure, and genetics. But because these details are not physically visible, people do not take these into account when assigning someone's gender. I never "chose" to feel female, its how ive always naturally felt inside. You cannot choose your gender, its pre-programmed into your brain, and cannot be changed.
