If you are into cars, think about an old classic which came out when no other good cars were about. Would u do it justice comparing it with a new souped up, computer designed 0-60 in blah blah. Hence the speed freaks and image conscious people in guitar and cars !

This came out when folk like him sat on a stool, with an acoustic guitar. Their voice and guitar only, recorded on a mic. That's all. Full stop. Yet you compare it with huge stages full of amps, effects pedals, keyboard player, drummer, bassist, rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist,a separate vocalist and God knows what else !

Rocky cock?! That is brilliant especially since it was directed at a potential Limp Bizkit fan - what a load of cock...but more importantly, I'm working my way backward in my education of rock n roll - too much Rolling Stones and The Who for today so I think I need to go back to basics - The Grandfather of RocknRoll. Hmmmmmm I should learn more from this era...

yea. if it werent for blues, rocknroll woudnt have come, which meant rock, pop and metal woudnt exist either. Robert johnson, blind lemon jefferson, leadbelly etc in my opinion invented modern music.

mmmm, no sé, pero en qué se parece esta música a la de la película de Crossroads?

... you have too much to learn dude... too much to learn...
By: Doggieman1111. on 20 Nov 08, 03:38:15
you're making the mistake of listening to it from a 2008 perspective. Johnson is almost pre-blues.. his music is where the old, old-school slave music crossed into modern blues, and from there to rock and roll. There's no way we can truly understand it, just like we can't translate Cicero the way he should be translated.
By: musicianx. on 20 Nov 08, 01:49:00
Wow. Rock...metal...any music we know today would not exist if it wasn't for Robert Johnson. Like what you want, but the man was a genius and deserves nothing but respect.

you're an idiot!

This was out way before rock even bloomin started, so why compare it? This is the base of rock music and more. Speed it up a little, it becomes Rock'n'Roll, slow it but throw more notes it becomes Jazz! Speed it more (but add more notes around the same blues notes) it becomes Metal ! Through some rap in, it becomes Nu-Metal !
By: crazycarpnfarts. on 19 Nov 08, 22:39:02
you suck buddy rock comes from this stuff if you were a musician or a real musician if you are a musician you would appreciate the complexety of this style. If you play guitar try and learn some of this stuff then tell me it sucks.
By: ilovehawaii2424. on 19 Nov 08, 21:15:17
this is terrible. sorry, but it sucks. this is the first time i'm listening to blues, and i'm not impressed. rock is much better

Johnson was influenced by the dark lord himself. He got his musical directions from down below. If Johnson was possesed by the devil, then Hendrix was the devil. Don't know if that makes any sense. It makes sense to me anyway
