UPS only? I guess he doesn't ship to Canada. Here UPS are the "border bandits". There are so many fees - diversion fee, clearance fee based on value scale, etc. Big shock to Canadian buyers when they get their items. Much better to just use plain old USPS.

I've been a long time PC user & to be honest was never happy at all. Granted I was use to PC so to make the change over to MAC was gonna take some time. Yet I was very happy to have made the change. Now If I wanna run Excel or Word Doc's I'll use any thing MAC-PC-Linux they all do the job for me. going from what he said, mac has a tighter controll on their software/ hardware. Thats good and bad, you miss out on a lot of stuff. The good is potentialy fewer problems, or easily fixed problems, yet with pc with it being open to about any program, there is always one to fix your problem, so pc for the win on that debate.

Macs are only reasonable priced just after an update, and very expensive just before one. Check macrumors buyersguide for some help in deciding which modells are good value or not. It sucks to be locked to the few configurations Apple offers and the crippled low end alternatives, but on the other hand I really wanna support their OS development by running genuine hardware :( (I bought a MBP.)

Cos at the end of the day if you don't make it user friendly how can you expect people to use it. There is always going to be an operating system on a box, unless Microsoft purposely "dumbs it down" - same they did with XBox, same what Linksys does with their WRT router etc... this is all $. So, OS streamed over the internet may not be a wow. I did make 2 DVD coasters in this whole process but I`m going to blame the cheap media (4xDVD+r) DVD`s I bought all couple years ago. Years ago I bought a all-in-wonder card and tried to put all my old hi8`s on DVD and it was so frustrating and time consuming I gave up. The Sony Direct-DVD made this chore very simple . Thank you Chris I always trust your opinion.

I`ve recorded 15 dvd`s in the past 3 days,Several from my old Sony Hi8 Analog,several from my old Panasonic VHS-C Analog. and two from my newest digital tape camcorder the Panasonic pvg-s29( 2 years old).
