Unless you are a gunsmith, you should never disassemble a weapon beyond a regular field strip.

You're exactly right shamos69. You only need to pull the slide back 1/8 of an inch, depress the catch levers and then push the slide forward and it will slide all the way off. The method in this video is not recommended by S&W.

It is all sealed up. There is no way. You have got to use non-residue action cleaner spray

You don't have to dry fire the weapon twice. During you take down/field strip you're pulling the slide back too far and resetting the trigger, just pull back a fraction of an inch.

you are leaving out about 3 more steps for a good cleaning man, you still need to remove the firing pin and the extractor, extractor tension rod and spring, the extractor plunger and spring then with a qtip really clean the slide, all of these items are located in the slide you will be amazed at how much better she shoots its the same dissasembly as the glocks not tough at all you will remove a lot of carbon take a small flathead SD and remove the black plastic plate on the back of tthe slide

Hey I just got one of these yesterday. Thanks for showing how easy that was man. I thought for sure it would be harder than that to get that slide off. I know it is on my Kimber.

this version of the 9mm S&W is the replica of a glock model. So much infact there was major controversy between the 2 manufactures. going as far as lawsuits from Glock to S&W.

Just dont try the smith and wesson 9mm ve gray with monarch blue box, beige or light green bullets,it will jam your pistol or gun. Did try nearly 250 rounds all together , and it jammed couple of times i will put the bullet case, those bullets are piece of garbage, and dont over lubricate the pistol parts.

By: cupidncomici. on 11 May 08, 04:12:54
heh, I noticed that. blasted >1000 rounds without a single jam. Field stripped at the range, cleaned, lubed in five minutes.
