No. Apple decided "Ok, to get it thinner than a pencil, we'll solder the battery!" Some other guys said "Yeah! That sounds like a great idea." iPod Classic 5th eneration has a removeble one, with a ribbon cable, not sure about the 6th and 7th gen.
