yeah thats my point, kits like SOPMOD wont fit onto the L80s etc... thats why the m-16 is a great weapon even in its old age, but yes the FN SCAR is definately better. Also, general US army and marines will be issued with the LWRC assault rifle, it pretty much combines the best features from the m-4, m16 and AR-15s... that and it NEVER jams, is entirely waterproof, has great accuracy and is also entirely combatible with the SOPMOD kit...

also, your right, British soldiers receive better training than general US army, although USMC personell receive the same training as british armed forces (the USMC took alot of its training elements from the british armed forces). whats wrong with current us attack helicopters??? apaches still kick ass (dont know many choppers as im not an expert on aircraft) but the us is still killing insurgents at 1km with its choppers so they are doing ok

the XM8 has been used by US special forces for 5 years now, but was dropped when FN released the SCAR which proved to be a million times better. Dragon Armour was rejected in 2006 but was re tested through elite units in late 2007 and is expected to be in normal units by late 2009-early 2010 (remember they have to mass produce it for over 1,000,000 soldiers, not an easy task.

that was a typo, the SCAR-L, H, and other variants are being brought in within 10 months among elite units... its already a common weapon amongst special forces such as green berets, SEALs, and FORECON teams. also, there is nothing wrong with the m series weapons, the length of time they have been in service is testament to their quality, they are as good as the sa80s in terms of accuracy and range (jam a bit more) but are far more customisable with the SOPMOD kit.

Ummmm, the FN SCAR is being phased into teh US military, it will be raplcing hte m-16, m-14 and m-4s in 10 years (its better than any british assault rifle), the us has the best jets in the world aswell as the newest stealth bombers, american choppers are still awsome and black hawks have proven to be the new hueys of modern warfare... interceptor is the same as what the british use, also the americans are gettign dragon armor to all personell in 2-3 years, its alreadyb eing phased in
