Microsoft is currently attempting to break into the Flash market by creating a competing technology called Silverlight. In this video excerpt (http://on10.net/Blo gs/tina/3392/), the Microsoft rep states that Microsoft essentially created the reader for the NYT, no doubt as an attempt at trying to gain Silverlight some traction.
