The inequitable distribution of resources and increased reproduction rates when give access to resources guarantees that there will be conflict, either for oil, food, water, arable land, minerals, etc. Your personal dreams, wants, and wishes are captive to the same process that causes an arms race between plants and herbivores, or between bacteria and your immune system.

That's exactly what I'm saying dude. Religion or not, the potential for violence and haterd is still there in pretty much every human being, and we're all at one time or another guilty of it. Just being religous ALONE doesn't cause people to these things. It's the extremists who believe it's "god's will" that these horrible acts be done that are the one who need to be stopped.

I have to agree that people have committed horrible atrocities in the name of God, or gods, but there have been numerous atrocities done in the name of other things as well. Whether it be for king or country, racial purity (stupid KKK and other racists), or just simple revenge. I don't see how euthanasia of religion, which would mean abolishing the right to religious freedom, is going to make things any better than they are. Well, except perhaps making things easier on homosexuals.

Humankind will continue to hate and torture one another with or without religion. In my opinion it's the extremists that are the real problem. If everyone was a little more open minded, the world would be easier "to unite as one," as you say. A lot of theist also say that they want to help and unite people, but the extremists I mentioned are the ones I feel are ruining things for all of us. in case someone missed the obvious... your life is controlled by elite rulers who do not want you to be happy and prosper and think for yourself. im not sure what modern greeks believe or how it got that way or why it was changed but at one point they did believe that. the theories pertaining to the beginning of time and space cannot be tested or proven. it takes more faith, if you ask me, to believe in the theories over the ancient texts and historical finds that add up. some things cant be proven with empirical evidence. with that in mind, more evidence points toward a creator. the story of a creator is the story of YHWH.

No credible scientist has ever claimed it was an "Accident" that is creationist propaganda at its best.
